IEEE-SASB has approved 802.11az PAR.
TGaz formation meeting will take place at the upcoming IEEE Bangkok meeting.

With this email the nomination for the Next Generation Positioning (NGP) TG Chair is now open.
Please forward the name of your nominee to the WG reflector or NGP TG reflector (once formed), or simply reply to this mail.

The TGaz will discuss forming a TG chair recommendation during the meeting, and once formed provide a recommended nominee to the WG chair.

Standard for Information Technology - Telecommunications and Information Exchange Between Systems Local and
Metropolitan Area Networks - Specific Requirements Part 11: Wireless LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical
Layer (PHY) Specifications - Enhancements for Positioning
Recommendation: Approve new PAR until December 2019

Congratulations to all who were involved in setting up this project.
So, the NGP folks will meet as our newest task group at the September meeting: TGaz.
I appoint Jonathan Segev as chair pro-tem of TGaz.

The NGP SG has submitted a PAR, which will be considered by the IEEE-SA standards board during its September meeting 3 Sept 2015.

Should this PAR be approved, NGP will be meeting as a task group in September.
If this happens, I will appoint a chair pro-tem, and ask the task group to provide me with one or more recommendations for TG chair as soon as they feel able. I anticipate the whole process of TG chair appointment and confirmation might complete in the September meeting.
