The optional DMG OFDM mode has
serious design flaws and has not been productized by any of the 60 GHz
silicon vendors to the best of my knowledge. Some of the flaws: (1) DMG OFDM
PHY header is transmitted in OFDM, which makes it not decodable to Single Carrier
only (SC-only) DMG devices, creating serious co-existence issues. (2) DMG
OFDM subcarriers are defined such that when two channels are bonded the
subcarriers for the wide channel will not fall on a uniform frequency grid
for FFT. It is anticipated that the 11ay standard will define a 60 GHz OFDM
mode that will include a single-channel operation, effectively replacing the
11ad OFDM.
Remove the DMG OFDM mode and all
parameters and references to DMG OFDM mode.
