Subject: [802-ALL] 2020 March IEEE 802 Plenary Session in Atlanta, GA - Concerns related to the Corona Virus
To: <STDS-802-ALL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>The 802 Executive Committee members are all concerned with the challenges many of our participants may have with their upcoming travel to attend the 2020 March IEEE 802 Plenary Session in Atlanta - March 15-20, 2020. The safety and well-being of conference participants, and of our regular attendees who are unable to attend, is our priority. We will continue to monitor ongoing travel restrictions as well as travel advisories issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) ) and work with our local venue partners to take appropriate measures to remain current on the city’s preparedness to deal with any needs. For registrants unable to attend due to travel restrictions, we will allow a full cancellation of the meeting registration, and will work with them on canceling their hotel reservation. Note that the hotel cancellation policy is 72 hours prior to check-in and we cannot promise any exceptions. We urge all travelers to keep informed and check for updated information on these sites::
● World Health Organization’s website on the Corona Virus (https://www.who.int/health-topics/coronavirus)
● Centers for Disease Control’s reference materials
(https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html)
● National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China (http://en.nhc.gov.cn/)for the most current information on risks, precautions and symptoms to make educated choices. We look forward to welcoming you to the event.Whether or not you attend, we wish the best for the health and safety of you and your family.
