Hi Jay and all,
cc. 802.11 and 802.15 reflectors,

On February 24, Canada ISED begun a public consultation that seeks comments on the technical and policy framework for
(1) more than 21 GHz of spectrum for licence-exempt use between 95 GHz and 275 GHz - specifically in the 116-122.25 GHz, 122.25-123 GHz, 174.8-182 GHz, 185-190 GHz and 244-246 GHz bands;
(2) for potential spectrum bands for licensed backhaul applications above 95 GHz.

The closing date for comments is April 29, 2022, and the closing date for reply comments is June 3, 2022.

The followings are a short summary of this consultation:

Paragraph 12:
ISED's policy objectives for spectrum above 95 GHz are provided.

Paragraph 14:
Possible applications for spectrum above 95 GHz are discussed.

Paragraphs 27 and 28:
A quick summary on the current use of spectrum above 95 GHz in Canada is provided.

Paragraphs 51 and 52
Specific change to the spectrum utilization for spectrum above 95 GHz are discussed, specifically, "to allow the use of licence-exempt devices in the 116-122.25 GHz, 122.25-123 GHz, 174.8-182 GHz, 185-190 GHz and 244-246 GHz bands on a no-protection, no-interference basis."

Paragraphs 59, 60, 61, 62
Specific technical conditions, which are similar to those of 57-71 GHz, are proposed

Paragraphs 63-70
Specific ISED proposals for potential spectrum bands for licensed backhaul applications above 95 GHz.
