--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Dear 802.18 participants,
cc. 802.11, 802.15, 802.19 participants,

Following the consultation in October 2024, Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (BIPT) published the official version of technical requirements on radio interfaces related to devices using the ultra wideband technology (UWB) on 21 November 2024.

On 3 October 2024, Belgium's telecom administration, BIPT, issued a consultation that seeks public opinions on radio interfaces related to devices using the ultra wideband technology (UWB).

When compared with the existing technical conditions, this consultation proposes:
1)  to modify a few existing rules (B20-01 to B20-11)  for generic use of UWB to avoid redundancy;
2)  to propose a new category (B23-14) concerning vehicle applications in the 6 GHz to 8.5 GHz band, including applications that involve infrastructure-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-vehicle communications;
3)  to propose 12 new categories (B29-01 to B29-11) concerning specific applications involving fixed outdoor installations for specific radiodetermination, localization, tracing and data acquisition;
4) to propose a new category (B29-12) concerning specific applications involving enhanced indoor devices for specific radiodetermination, localization, tracing and data acquisition.

The official submission deadline is 7 November 2024.  If you would like IEEE 802 LMSC to submit a response, please bring a contribution to IEEE 802.18 no later than 3pm ET, 17 October 2024, to review and consider approval.

Thanks and Regards,
Edward
