On 30 March 2025, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) began a consultation "Draft regulations on dynamic spectrum access and opportunistic spectrum management in the innovation spectrum 3800 - 4200 MHz and 5925 - 6425 MHz", which seeks public opinions on its proposal to offer dynamic access to these frequency bands via databases.

The comment submission deadline is 30 May 2025.  If you would like IEEE 802 LMSC to submit any response, please bring a contribution to IEEE 802.18 to review and consider approval no later than the opening meeting of the IEEE 802.18 May 2025 wireless interim (i.e., 10:30am CET, Tuesday, 13 May 2025).
