stds-802-16: P802.16a/D2 is now available
Great news: P802.16a/D2 is now available:
http://ieee802.org/16/private/drafts/tga/P80216a_D2.zip
Thanks to Nico van Waes (aided by Ken Peirce, Brian Eidson, and Jerry
Krinock) for doing another exhaustive and thorough editing job and
getting done on schedule! Looks great too!
I will ask IEEE to put this draft up for sale in their catalog.
In accordance with our schedule:
http://ieee802.org/16/tga/schedule.html
we will begin a two-week recirculation of Letter Ballot #4 today.
I'll get instructions out later in the day. In the meantime, you can
begin studying the draft and preparing comments in Commentary.
We have come a long way, and the transition from Draft 1 to Draft 2
was huge. However, we aren't done yet. The plan is based on us making
an equally huge improvement going to Draft 3 and then mostly
fine-tuning afterwards. We have built in another reply-comment period
to help make this happen. However, we are going to need you to take a
careful look in the next two weeks. I think you'll find that
commenting will be much easier this time, since the document is
better organized, streamlined, and more readable. This should make it
much easier to generate clear comments with specific remedies. I
suggest that you keep Commentary open while you read. When you spot
an error or omission, make a note immediately. If you haven't
commented before, this is your golden opportunity! Let's make Draft 3
something we can we proud to send to Sponsor Ballot.
