stds-802-16: volunteers solicited for 802.16a enhancement efforts
As noted in the Session #20 Report, 802.16 has a new Study Group on Mobile WirelessMAN; this group will address enhancements to the IEEE 802.16a PHY/MAC to support mobile operation, including cell-to-cell and sector-to-sector handoff capability as well as other protocol and MIB support.
Also, the Working Group voted to open two new Ad Hoc committees:
* "802.16a PICS Ad Hoc": to develop (by the end of Session #21) one or more PICS PARs in support of 802.16a
* "802.16a Enhancements Ad Hoc": to develop (by the end of Session #21) a PAR for enhancements to IEEE 802.16/16a for support for nomadic operation, roaming, repeaters, MIB/management, and system profiles
I am looking for individuals to Chair these three activities. If you are interested, please let me know by the end of next week (July 26).
