Jeff et al,
The various temporary directories that
Roger has set up are for the convenience of the Working Group members. They
have no “official” status.
Regarding the upload, here is the simplest
way to look at it:
If you are submitting a document for
discussion by the ad hoc, then upload it to the appropriate temporary directory
using the ad hoc numbering scheme.
If you are submitting a document for
discussion at the TGe meeting by the entire 802.16e group, then upload it to
the TGe directory using the TGe numbering scheme.
The only documents that should be uploaded
to the TGe directory are those intended for discussion at the actual TGe meeting.
This would include consensus documents coming out of the ad-hocs, as well
as individual contributions that address non-adhoc items or that differ with the
ad hoc consensus approach. These could be new contributions or revisions
of previously submitted contributions. It is usually much cleaner and
easier administratively, however, to submit a new contribution (with a new
number) on the same subject as the previous contribution and, if appropriate,
reference the old contribution in the new submission (especially, if the
revisions are extensive).
When submitting ballot comments, the ONLY
contributions that should be referenced in a comment are those uploaded to the TGe
directory. As far as TGe is “officially” concerned, the temporary
directories don’t exist.
I hope that helps cut the confusion a bit.
Brian

[PREAMBLE] Preamble Ad-Hoc group (new upload)
Thanks Peiying. Done with what you said. I
renamed it to "80216e-04_PreambleAdhoc_temp001.pdf" and uploaded to http://temp.wirelessman.org.
The process is still a little bit confusing to me, to be frankly with you,
although I am fine with it as long as we can get the work done. I hope
the time wasted for everybody else is just the interruption of reading these
emails. My understanding now is that, from this point on, we all upload
any document related to this ad-hoc group to the above directory until we are
ready to upload the single harmonized contribution as "official"
contribution. Am I right? Does this include all revised versions of the
previously "official" contributions in the future? If yes, they
will use which type of naming rule, official or anything with a
"preamble" in the name?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi,
Jeff/all:
Sorry
not to reply your previous Email. I was not able to access Email last week.
I
asked Roger for a proper area to upload docs related to PREAMBLE ad-hoc. His
suggestion is to use the following link:
<http://temp.wirelessman.org>
Please
upload your contributions there and please do not use the 802.16e numbering scheme
on any of these temporary documents as suggested by Brian. Let us just use a
file name and make sure there is a preamble in the description.
I
will send another mail shortly for tomorrow's conference call logistics.
Regards,
Peiying

[PREAMBLE] Preamble Ad-Hoc group (new upload)
Dear
Peiying and the preamble group,
The
contribution entitled "GCL-based preamble design for 1024,512, and
128 FFT sizes in the OFDMA PHY
layer" was able to be uploaded as the
server is back online. The
official number is "C80216e-04_241".
Feedback is always appreciated.
Also,
has anyone had any problem to open "C80216e-04_188"? Some of
the
equations cannot be displayed.
Peiying, has the group decided the time
and schedule of tomorrow's
conference call yet? I guess you will send
out all the information today,
right? Thanks.
Best
Regards,
Jeff
