Subject: [802.15.4A] Announcement of the CFP for 802.15 TG4a
I'd like to remind you that Task Group 802.15.4a is now accepting
declarations of intent for proposals for a new alternate PHY for the
802.15.4 standard. This alternative PHY will provide precision
ranging, extended range, enhanced robustness and mobility amendment
to standard 802.15.4. The PAR for this project can be viewed at
<http://standards.ieee.org/board/nes/projects/802-15-4a.pdf. >http://standards.ieee.org/board/nes/projects/802-15-4a.pdf.
For more information about this task group and the applications and
technologies that have been considered please check out our web site
at
<http://www.ieee802.org/15/pub/TG4a.html>http://www.ieee802.org/15/pub/TG4a.html.
It is mandatory that all persons wishing to make a proposal respond
to the Call for Intent on or before August 10, 2004. No new
proposals will be considered after that date. If in doubt regarding
your desire to make a proposal you are better off declaring your
intent and not presenting later.
We will begin hearing preliminary versions of proposals at the
September meeting and again at the November meeting. Those wishing to
make formal proposals in January are urged to make preliminary
presentations at the September and/or November sessions. The purpose
of these preliminary proposal presentations is to allow the proposers
to socialize their technology and to better understand the reaction
of the TG4a group. A side benefit is the TG4a group has an
opportunity to refine the Criteria Selection Document with respect to
issues brought up by these presentations.
All proposers must present their proposal at the January session in
accordance with the Call for Proposals. These submissions must be
submitted by January 4, 2005 (due 11 PM Eastern Standard Time).
