[STDS-802-16] Fwd: Survey of potential November attendance for 802.22

Dear IEEE 802 Participants,

As you may know, at the closing Executive Committe meeting at our
recent plenary in Portland, the EC approved the forwarding of a PAR
to NesCom and the Standards Board for approval that would, if
approved by the Standards Board in September, result in the formal
start in November of a new wireless Working Group (IEEE 802.22)
tasked with developing a cognitive PHY/MAC/air interface for Wireless
Regional Area Networks operating as license-exempt devices on
geographically unused TV spectrum on a strictly non-interfering basis.

Also, as you know, our plenaries have grown to be much larger than in
the relatively recent past, with the result that our meeting planners
need the most accurate possible estimate of attendance to properly
allocate meeting space and make other arrangements.

The potential "kick-off" plenary of a new WG often results in a
rather large turn-out as people seek to gain voting rights in the new
WG.

In order to provide our meeting planners with the best possible
estimate of the attendance impact of IEEE 802.22 potentially having
it's first plenary in November, please reply DIECTLY TO ME AT THE
ADDRESS BELOW with your answers to the following questions:

1) If the IEEE 802.22 WRAN WG does have its first plenary in
November, 2004, will you (at least substantially) attend 802.22's
sessions?
2) If your answer to question #1 is "yes," which, if any, WG would
you not be attending that you might otherwise attend?

To simplify the tabulation of data, please send your e-mail to
<mailto:carl.stevenson@ieee.org>mailto:carl.stevenson@ieee.org

with a BLANK message BODY

AND, in the SUBJECT line please use the following format:

last_name; first_name; answer_to_question_#1 (e.g., yes or no);
other_WG_from_question_#2 (e.g., 11, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, or 0 if
not applicable)

If you receive duplicates of this via WG reflectors as well as
"802ALL" please excuse the duplicates and PLEASE ONLY RESPOND ONE
TIME.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and regards,
