OK, let's be perfectly clear:

*The IEEE 802.16 web site sits on the IEEE server.
*The IEEE server does not run ftp.

*The IEEE 802.16 server does run ftp.

*During sessions, we work with an image of the 802.16 web site on the
802.16 server. If we can get the permissions right, we could run ftp
on-site. However, http can do what ftp can do; you just need to get
the right software. For example, if you have a Mac, you can use
Interarchy <http://www.interarchy.com>.
