[STDS-802-16] IEEE 802.16 Session #39 Report, and other IEEE 802.16 updates
Session #39 of the IEEE 802.16 Working Group on Broadband Wireless
Access took place on 12-15 September 2005 in Taipei, Taiwan. 226
people attended. The IEEE 802.16 Session #39 Report summarizes the

This announcement has been delayed so as to include some recent
updates regarding the progress of IEEE 802.16 standards development.
Please take note of the following important results:
*The final ballot recirculation of P802.16e/D12 closed on 1 November,
without comment. The approval ratio was 99%. The draft is now
awaiting a recommendation at the 6 December meeting of IEEE-SA
Standards Board's Review Committee (RevCom). Following RevCom action,
final approval by the Board would be expected the following day.
*P802.16-2004/Cor1/D5 was reviewed by RevCom, which voted unanimously
on 27 October to recommend final approval. This recommendation has
been forwarded to the IEEE-SA Standards Board for a 10-day ballot
regarding final approval, expected by 11 November.
*P802.16f/D6 (the Management Information Base [MIB] for fixed
operation) was approved as IEEE Std 802.16f-2005, an amendment to
IEEE Standard 802.16-2004, by the IEEE-SA Standards Board on 22
September 2005.
Session #40 will be held on 14-17 November 2005 at the Fairmont Hotel
Vancouver in Vancouver, BC, Canada in conjunction with the IEEE 802
