Re: [STDS-802-16] Maximum MAC data per frame

Hi Jonatan,

The capability is related to MAC layer “PDUs throughput” only.  It does not limit the processing capability of the subscriber with regards to PHY layer “Bursts throughput”.

Best regards,
- Yigal

Subject: [STDS-802-16] Maximum MAC data per frame

Hi there

I would greatly appreciate your help in clarifying the following:

In 11.7.8.10, 11.7.8.10.1,  11.7.8.10.2 (802-16e) the MS sends its capability information regarding

throughput to BS.

Does the following capability IE notify the BS of the maximum throughput also on the PHY level (preventing the decoders from decoding entire frame)?

That is – BS shall not address in any way (Broadcast, Unicast or other) more than this amount

per frame to MS using the DL-MAP.

Thank you, and best regards

Jonatan Segev
