At Session #54 (17-20 March 2008), the IEEE 802.16 Working Group will hold elections for Chair and Vice Chair. Here are some details: According to the 802 LMSC Policies and Procedures <http://ieee802.org/devdocs.html>: "LMSC WG Chairs and Vice Chairs shall be elected by the WG and confirmed by the LMSC EC. Terms shall end at the end of the first plenary session of the next even numbered year." The procedures for election of the IEEE 802.16 Working Group Officers (Chair and Vice Chair) are available here: As stated there, "Candidates are encouraged to declare their candidacy, in a Working Group meeting or via the Working Group email reflector, as soon as possible before the election. The names of those eligible who declare their candidacy at least eight days before the scheduled election shall be included on the paper ballot." Both the current Chair (Roger Marks) and the current Vice Chair (Jose Puthenkulam) announced at Session #53 in Levi that they will be candidates for re-election to their positions. Per the procedures, these elections will be on the agenda for the Session #54 Opening Plenary meeting, which is scheduled for 1-4 pm on Monday 17 March. Regards, Roger Roger B.
