[STDS-802-16] Working Group Officer Elections at Session #66

At Session #66 <http://ieee802.org/16/meetings/mtg66>, the IEEE 802.16 Working Group will hold elections for Chair and Vice Chair. Here are some details:

According to the 802 LMSC Policies and Procedures <http://standards.ieee.org/board/aud/LMSC_2009.pdf>: "IEEE 802 WG Chairs and Vice Chairs shall be elected by the WG and confirmed by the Sponsor. All confirmed positions become effective at the end of the plenary session where the appointment/election occurs... The term for all WG Chairs and Vice Chairs ends at close of the first plenary session of each even numbered year."

The IEEE 802.16 Working Group Officer Election Process is documented here:
Note that the posted Election Process is a new document. For reference, the edits to the prior process are also posted at the link. The only procedural change is in the distribution of the paper ballots, in recognition of the fact that voting tokens are no longer distributed as stickers.

As stated in the Election Process, "Candidates are encouraged to declare their candidacy, in a Working Group meeting or via the Working Group email reflector, as soon as possible before the election. The names of those eligible who declare their candidacy at least eight days before the scheduled election shall be included on the paper ballot."

Per the procedures, these elections will be on the agenda for the Session #66 Opening Plenary meeting, which is scheduled for the afternoon of Monday 15 March 2010.

Please be aware that IEEE 802 has a policy on endorsement and affiliation letters

Roger
