Hi there,
I am looking for information on how to use 802.17 rings to connect two customer sites in 2 different metros.
I could not find it in any of the material at http://www.ieee802.org/rprsg/
Customer_A_Metro_1 ---- Metro_1 Network ---- Long haul network --------Metro_2 network----- Customer_A_Metro_2
Specifically, if I have multiple hosts in one metro talking to multiple hosts in another metro, how do I discover these hosts and how do I set up connectivity among them ?
The answer could be at several levels
a. 802.17 is not concerned in defining methods for discovering nodes that are not on the same ring
b. Here are the mechanisms for node discovery across rings etc
c. Use of MAC address learning and spanning tree protocol
etc
Any info/pointers to presentations on this will be highly appreciated.
thanks
badri
