I also found that you have to not only call the hotel
number rather than the 800 number (Robert's right, the
central reservations people don't know anything about
IEEE group rates), but you have to mention "Cisco" in
order to enable the reservations person to find the
group rate. The hotel reservations person claimed to
not know anything about "IEEE ..." at all, but magically
found it when she searched under "Cisco". The $179 rates
are still available.
