Yes, an edge will result for this. Note in row 11 of Table 10.18, NeighborOverride returns TRUE only if the protection state of the other link of the span is greater than SD.

     I wonder if edge will result  when two SD conditions appear on the same span?  There is no other SD or higher condition elsewhere on the ring.
