[RPRWG] Editorial fixups included in D3.0b draft
All,
Having peeked at the copy earlier on Saturday, I found numerous
errors. I have corrected (what I felt) are clear editorial problems.
I didn't intend to do substantial work, with two exceptions:
1) My Clause 5 obvious fixups
2) extensive work on Clause 12 OAM, based on comments
received from Leon and John. (Neither Leon or John
have had the time to review these changes).
With said fixes, a set of files is available on the following:
http://dvjames.com/files/Draft30b.ZIP
To extract the files, use your normal password.
The intention is to propose this as starting source for D3.1 at the
teleconference tomorrow (announcement below). If that fails,
the CMP files will be used to generate numerous comments on
the next draft.

For your convenience, I have attached a list of comments
on D3.0a that came from John Lemon and myself. All of these
with cross-through text are resolved by the D3.0b source
mentioned above. These comments are also contained in the
.zip file.

Subject: [RPRWG] Revised Draft 3.0a for 802.17 WG Review
On behalf of the Chairman and Chief Editor:
Revised Draft 3.0a for 802.17 WG Review
---------------------------------------
Dear IEEE 802.17 Working Group Member:
A revised version of IEEE P802.17 (Resilient Packet Ring), Draft 3.0a,
otherwise known as:
Information Technology - Telecommunications and information exchange between
systems - Local & Metropolitan Area Networks - Specific requirements -
Resilient Packet Ring Access Method and Physical Layer Specifications
is available for review. Note that the review period opened on Tuesday,
10 February 2004 at 9.00 PM Pacific Time and will continue to close on
Monday, 16 February 2004 at 11:00 PM Pacific Time.
The following changes were made between the original D3.0a draft and this
revised version:
- updates to Clauses 12, 13 and Annex D. There was not sufficient
time to implement all of the comment resolutions for the OAM
section. The revised draft contains all of the updates. In addition,
the cross-references in the MIB tables have been updated.
- updates to Clause 11. Some bugs and typographical errors were
found after initial review. These have been fixed.
- minor typographical updates to the introductory matter.
THIS IS NOT A BALLOT OR COMMENT PERIOD. This review period is to enable WG
members to review the proposed draft (D3.0a) that will go out to Sponsor
Ballot recirculation as D3.1. A conference call will be held on the 17th
of February to discuss any feedback or issues. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT BALLOTS
OR COMMENTS. Instead, please attend the conference call interim meeting and
provide your feedback.
No changes to the existing Sponsor Ballot status will occur as a consequence
of this review.
A copy of this draft can be found on our password-protected website:
