[RPRWG] Topology Database learning Query
Hello RPR WG,
Could anyone please clarify on the following scenario.
A RPR node should have topology image of all the nodes in the ring.
As per "11.17-TransmitTpFrame state table" of Draft 3.3 We understand
that
a. Topology and protection(TP) frames does carry only its own
information(My Info and Protection, but no topology Entries ) to its
neighboring nodes.
b. Also the TP frame size is fixed one(26 Bytes). So no additional
information can be sent in TP frame.
and As per "11.14-ParseTpFrame state table" of Draft 3.3 We understand
that
c. Upon receiving the TP frames, the neighboring nodes do not forward
the received TP frames. They update the information to its topology
database and drops the frame. It again generate new TP frames consisting
of its own information (My Info and Protection but no topology Entries)
and transmits to its neighbors.
d. We checked up whether Topology Entries can be sent through ATD
frames. However, there is no Defined ATD Encoding to send Topology
entries.
Based on the above understanding, we could not see that an RPR node
learning TP information of all the nodes in the ring.
