Mark,
I will put it down for Tuesday
PM1.
I sent out an email out
yesterday to the reflector to see if there are any items for tomorrow’s
conference call. It seems you may not be on the email reflector yet. Here is
a link to the email,
http://ieee802.org/19/arc/stds-802-19list/msg00572.html
I did not receive any
responses.
We can discuss the coexistence
scenario for the SEAMCAT presentation on tomorrow’s call. Here is the
call information for everyone. The call is on Thursday at 11 AM Eastern Time
(8 AM Pacific Time).
Those who are interested in
discussing the SEAMCAT coexistence scenario please plan to attend. Thanks.

Steve,
Either Tuesday PM1 or PM2 is fine with us.
Is the conference call on tomorrow? I
think it would be the best time to talk about a scenario and we endeavour
to run it next week.
Could you also let me know details to
connect to the conference call.
Thanks for your help.

Mark,
I have not put together the agenda yet (guess I better do that this week J).
I plan to have meetings on Tuesday PM1 and PM2. Either one is fine with
me. Please tell me which one works for you and Peter.
We skipped the call last week since the document David Cypher was working on he
did not have time to update that week. We did discuss it some the
previous call.
I think our next call is after the New Year, on January 4. I am assuming
many people will be out next week. I will send out a reminder before
hand.
Can we discuss the scenario on that call? Another way to get the
discussion going on that topic is to send out an email requesting input from
members of the TAG. I would suggest you give several possible scenarios
and ask what people think. That is usually a good way to get the
discussion going. We could discuss it via email and then if needed we can
talk about it more on the call on January 4.

Steve,
Just to confirm that my colleague Peter
Spital will be attending the next 802.19 meeting to do the SEAMCAT
presentation, could you let me know what session on the Tuesday you will
require him.
Sorry I have not been able to participate
in the phone conferences as I have been travelling for the last few weeks.
Could you let me know the schedule for the calls over the next month.
Also we have been talking about running a
scenario to demonstrate the software could you let me know an area you would
like us to investigate?
Thanks for your help.

Paul,
Thanks. The waiver will be for a few of Mark Austin’s
colleagues. Mark already attends 802.19 (and pays J).

Hi Steve, Ah ....
OK, that sounds more like something that might work. Here's what I
would suggest:
As an 802 WG Chair you can invite someone
join in an 802 meeting for purpose of giving a presentation or
report (e.g. a tutorial), and we have specific guidelines for what
qualifies for an 802 guest registration in that case. So assuming
you do that and that Paul Nikolich, John Hawkins, and I concur that he meets
the guidelines for guest registration, you should be able to extend that
offer to him for the London Session.
I'll wait for John and Paul to comment but
I think that should do the job. OK ???
Thanx,
Buzz

Buzz,
I did not do a very good job explaining this. It is not a commercial
product. I would not have allowed it if it was. You can see a short
presentation by Mark Austin from OFCOM (the regulatory agency in the UK) that he gave at the Dallas meeting.
http://ieee802.org/19/pub/2006/19-06-0041-00-0000-SEAMCAT-Introduction-Presentation.ppt
Mark can say more about it. He is copied on this email.

Steve

Steve, I would have to
say NO based on the fact that's it's a commercial product presentation, which
is clearly verboten at 802. It's the true slippery slope where once you
let just one vendor in you then have a thousand others all asking for the same
permission. I would instead suggest they do some kind of a
vendor hospitality suite over at the Hilton Paddington Hotel where there
is plenty of space and invite whoever is interested to join them
over there.
To attend any 802.x meetings during the
session they will need to register just as any other attendee would, and
product announcements or demos during the meetings are not allowed.
Sorry but rules is rules on this one. :-)
Thanx,
Buzz

Subject: RE: SEAMCAT presentation

Bob and Buzz,
One of the 802.19 members from the UK (Mark Austin) has suggested that some of
his colleagues give a presentation at the January Interim of a publicly
available software tool that can be used to evaluate coexistence. Mark
points out that these people would only attend for a two-hour meeting to give
this presentation and hence they want to know if they can avoid paying the
registration fee. Since this is an interim and not a plenary I figured
you guys are the ones to ask. I also copied the wireless leaders email
list since this is basically a wireless interim meeting.
Is it possible to give these people a waver so they can attend that two-hour
meeting just for the purpose of presenting this tool? If so, what is the
procedure?
Thanks,
Steve

A couple of questions for you
I was check through my notes of the last meeting and was
wondering if you could confirm the model you would like us to demonstrate on
SEAMCAT.
The other question was have you been able to confirm if the
meeting fees will be waved for the SEAMCAT experts that will be attending as
they will only be present to give the presentation and will not attending the
rest of the meeting.
