On 9 February 2024, Thailand NBTC released the following press release after they conducted trials with a few industry stakeholders of metaverse in 2023:
Part of their findings is that while the current amount of spectrum in Thailand is sufficient to support Metaverse, additional spectrum (for Wi-Fi or 5G/6G) may be required for scenarios with high density of users in the same area. The findings also mentioned about the use of the lower 6 GHz band (5925 MHz to 6425 MHz) that may reduce any congestion in current uses of Wi-Fi and various short-range communications devices.
