[802.19] [Corrected] Japan's consultation in relaxing technical conditions for selected UWB, 6 GHz, 60 GHz, 2.4 GHz equipment

Dear 802.18 participants,
cc. 802.11, 802.15, 802.19 participants,

On 18 October 2024, Japan MIC began a consultation "•Call for opinions on the proposed ministerial ordinance to amend part of the Radio Law Enforcement Regulations: Addition of systems and bands to the special exemption system for non-technical equipment", which seeks public opinions on the following:
1) Addition of systems subject to the special system for devices brought overseas (90-day rule), which is related to 60 GHz and UWB devices
2) Addition of systems subject to the special system for experimental radio stations (180-day rule), in which the proposed regulation extends it to 6 GHz VLP and LPI Wi-Fi, which may be of interest to us.

On 18 October 2024, Japan MIC began a consultation that seeks public opinion in allowing tourists visiting Japan to use wireless equipment brought in by them for a limited period of 90 days from the date of entry into the country, provided that the wireless equipment meets certain
conditions, such as conforming to technical standards equivalent to those set forth in the Radio Law. (Article 4-2, Paragraph 1 of the Radio Law).

For the proposed change in regulations, it involves UWB, 60 GHz low power data communication system, 60 GHz moving object detection sensor, 6 GHz WLAN, and Thread communication standard devices (2.4GHz band).
