In the past we have
had discussions on "terms to be used". I want to restart this discussion,
because we are using the phrase "Frame Error Rate". In other 802
documents, we use the term "data units" at the MAC layer. This is because
other standards, like x.25, use the term "frame" to mean information at their
layer.
To restart this
discussion, I am attaching a diagram that shows how one could decompose a
message at layer 7 (or above) to a data unit at layer 2. I would like to
include this diagram in the requirements document, but we do not have a
place holder. I suggest we place this diagram in the appendix with
terms.
