Thanks for the valuable input.
I agree that these two documents provide
useful information that should be consider when deriving 802.21 requirement on
3GPP. In particular they strengthen the reason of being of the 802.21 spec as a
whole.
Originally we looked at both 22.978 and
23.934 to derive inter-working scenarios. We noticed 22.978 covers requirements
for both legacy (CS and PS) and all IP network and therefore though that it
might have been appropriate to simply introduce 802.21 under the scope of 22.978
Note however, that during our 802.21 July
meeting in San Francisco,
the group got some input suggesting that a wider exposure of the 802.21 to
other 3GPP was in place (e.g., RAN, GERAN, CT). During the last teleconference we
also discussed what groups that might be impacted with 802.21 requirements. It
might be a good idea to continue this discussion, taken into consideration the
input you are providing and determine if we need to reduced/augment the scope..

Hi Ulises,
as I understood from 3GPP the scenario 4
and 5 are not "in scope" at the moment within the I-WLAN group within
SA2. They stopped their activities and "forwarded" their requirements
to the SA1 and SA2. Theses groups are designing (as I understood) a more generic
architecture which allows handover across all possible Access networks (not
only UMTS and WLAN).
There are two documents, which are
available on the 3GPP Server:
TR 22.978 All IP feasibility study
TR 23.882 System Architecture
Evolution
You may take this into consideration for
the presentation.
