802.21 Members, During
the March Plenary meeting (17-20 March 2008), the IEEE 802.21 Working Group
will hold elections for Chair and Vice Chair. According
to the 802 LMSC Policies and Procedures <http://ieee802.org/devdocs.html>:
"LMSC
WG Chairs and Vice Chairs shall be elected by the WG and confirmed by the LMSC
EC. Terms
shall end at the end of the first plenary session of the next even numbered
year." The
procedure for election of the IEEE 802.21 Working Group Officers (Chair and
Vice Chair) can be found at <https://mentor.ieee.org/802.21/file/08/21-08-0002-00-0000-802-21-wg-election-process.doc> As
stated there, "Candidates are encouraged to declare their candidacy, in a
Working Group meeting or via the Working Group email reflector, as soon as
possible before the election. The
names of those eligible who declare their candidacy at least eight days before
the scheduled election shall be included on the paper ballot." The current WG Chair (Vivek Gupta) will be a candidate for
re-election for the WG Chair position Subir Das has announced his candidacy for WG Vice Chair
position The current WG Vice Chair (Michael Williams) will be a candidate
for re-election for the WG Vice Chair position As per
the procedures, these elections will be on the agenda as part of the Opening
Plenary meeting, and will be conducted on Monday 17 March 2008 at 4:00 PM Best
