Dear Task Force Participants, Please see the message below. Remembrances should be sent to the DIALOG reflector. Regards, Dan Dove Chair, IEEE P802.3bm 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s Optical Ethernet Task Force ================== Colleagues, David asked me to ask you to forward
Mark's email regarding Hugh (sent  to the DOT3 reflector) to
your project reflectors. I'd appreciate it if you'd reinforce
the request to direct any remembrances or discussion to the
          DIALOG (STDS-802-3-DIALOG@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
) reflector. This reflector is open and anyone may post to it. Thanks for your help in this sad task. Regards, Steve From:

                 To
friends and colleagues who worked with Hugh Barrass, It
is with the greatest sadness that I have to tell you that
Hugh Barrass passed away suddenly last night.  I can’t
even attempt to do justice to the level of contribution
and impact Hugh has had on the industry through his work
in the IEEE standards and beyond.  Hugh’s great humor,
insights, knowledge and friendship will be sorely missed
              by many. At
this time, I do not have any information on any funeral or
memorial arrangements but I will forward on details when I
know more.  Feel free to reach out to me (mnowell@xxxxxxxxx)
if you have any questions. We
will try to gather somehow at next month’s meeting and
have a celebration of Hugh’s life.   I know many will want
to share remembrances and thoughts,  could you please
direct them to the DIALOG reflector only. I think these
              are archived.  With
              much sadness,  Mark |
