Re: [8023-10GEPON] [FEC] FEC Framing next steps
Glen and all,
1. Regarding how to best focus the group on the main issues of contention:
Since the state machine issue concerns you it's good that you mention it again so that it gets proper attention. I'd add that to understand how a scheme actually works and to evaluate its performance and implementation we also need a clear description of the way (or perhaps ways) the scheme could be implemented. Hope that we can do both.
2. Regarding telecon dates:
- Feb 6/7 at 1500 PST / 2300 GMT / 0800 JST is fine with me.
- Someone else has requested that the second telecon be moved to Feb 20/21 instead of Feb 19/20.
- Bridge details will be posted to the reflector a day or two beforehand
Thanks and BRs,
- Jeff

Jeff and all,
This seems to be a good plan of work for the ad hoc. In Monterey 3 FEC schemes were presented and many good questions asked. I think to be able to analyze each proposal and to achieve harmonization, the group should understand in more details how each scheme works. If you agree, do you plan to allocate time for schemes' contributors to expand on what we saw in Monterey and to present more details, such as state machines, etc.?
I won't be able to join a call on Monday Feb 5th. Is there a way to move to Tuesday, PST?
Thanks,
Glen
