Re: [8023-10GEPON] Draft D1.8022 is uploaded - your action is required

Everyone,

Figure 92-19 seems to have a couple of errors. In the entrance to LOCK_INIT it shows "reset_!signal_ok". This probably should be "reset | !signal_ok". Also, on the exit from LOCKED state it does not match up with 3av_0805_effenberger_1.pdf. Maybe the transition should be just "EOB_valid + persist_dec_fail". There is no need to OR in the signal_ok value since it is handled by the global transition into LOCK_INIT.

In 92.4.4.7 there is a reference for item SM4 listed as "Figure 92-XX". Since this was new text, perhaps it could be changed to the correct value. I believe the figure should be 92-22.

Subject: [8023-10GEPON] Draft D1.8022 is uploaded - your action is required

Dear Colleagues,

I am glad to announce that our editors once again have demonstrated remarkable endurance and perseverance whereby through long hours and many iterations they produced the draft D1.8022 on time.

The draft is now uploaded to our website. You may access it at http://www.ieee802.org/3/av/private/drafts.html

Please, note that D1.8022 is a preliminary draft. As we discussed at the May meeting, the P802.3av draft will be submitted by July 3rd for working group review in anticipation of starting the working group ballot in July. Since the 802.3av task force will not have a chance to meet before our draft is submitted, we are taking an additional step this time to verify that all the changes in D1.8022 were implemented precisely according to the comment resolutions recorded in http://www.ieee802.org/3/av/public/2008_05/3av_0805_comments_d1_3_accepted.pdf.

Please, review the posted documents (marked-up version) and, if you find any material not consistent with an approved comment resolution, or a newly-introduced error, sent a message to editors and to the reflector. Remember that at this stage we should only focus on latest changes made by editors. Do not submit new comments to fix remaining issues or make improvements. We will have till Wednesday, June 11th to review the preliminary draft. (It will be editor's discretion how to address your feedback.)

On Friday, June 13th, the editors will publish the final version (D1.8023) of the draft. This version will be submitted to WG for preview. At that time we will start our normal commenting cycle against the D1.8023. We will resolve these new comments at the July meeting.

Please, let me know if you have any questions about the process or schedule ahead of us.

Thank you,
Glen
