Dear all, I have been informed that as of the 4th
of May, some of the local China consulates received orders from the
Chinese Government that there is a minimum 6 day processing time for China
visas. They are also requesting all travelers complete the Declaration Form
similar to the one posted on http://www.chinaconsulatesf.org/eng/qianzhen/t560317.htm. The Declaration Form requires each traveler to list the states
and/ or countries that you have traveled to in the past two weeks. Be advised
that that may result in a delay in obtaining the visa for June 2009 Interim
meeting for P802.3av participants. As for now, it seems that the said extended
delay is not universal (e.g. the local embassy in Lisbon, Portugal does not
apply it). Please be sure to check the duration of the
proceeding delay with Your local embassy of P. R. of China to make sure that You
obtain Your visa in time for the meeting. As a side note – people holding a valid
entry visa to P. R. of China do not need to apply for visa again.
