A question for you MDIO experts:

In clause 45 of the 802.3ae, it is stated that the MDC can be aperiodic.
However, there is no detail of this behavior. I am interested in knowing
when it is allowed to turn off the MDC. Would an MDIO interface be
considered compliant if, after an MDIO transaction, one or more MDC
cycles were required before the transaction has an effect on the MMD?
