Colleagues,

We need contributions to move our study group forward. As discussed in Indianapolis, technical and economic feasibility presentations for our 25 Gb/s objective are needed. These are not baseline proposals, but examples of techniques and technologies that we might eventually select in Task Force.

We have also discussed asymmetric operation. As mentioned before, we need to be careful to differentiate asymmetric traffic (e.g. P802.3ch with Slow Wake
EEE) from asymmetrical rates (different bit times in Tx and Rx directions.) We also need a rational for asymmetry. Is the real issue a perception that asymmetry will provide a lower power/relative cost solution? We need presentations that provide data, whatever position is taken.
