[802.3_B400G] signal detect/squelch comments

All,

Following the discussion today about my presentation and comments #13 and #14, and the straw poll results, I intend to prepare a modified proposal for the resolution of these comments.

It will be based on:

  • The proposed changes shown in slide 13 (“part 1”), except that the minimum squelch time will be removed
  • The proposed changes shown in slide 15 (“part 2 option B”), meaning that squelching will also be allowed for modules with PHY XS.
  •  

If anyone has any issues with this approach or requested changes, please reply to me directly.
