Dear Task Force Participants,
During the 24th May 2023 P802.3df Task Force call, the “Comment Database” used to capture the Comment Resolution Group’s review of submitted comments was corrupted. The captured responses to the following resolved comments considered on the 24th May call have been lost:
Clause Topic Comments
45 TX EQ register [16, 25, 57, 26, 28, 27, 29]
45 listing PCS lanes [17, 30, 21]
45 optional registers [23, 22]
171 degrade signaling 99
172 encoder/decoder 35, 37, 103
172 PCS lane numbering 106
Please note that the Editorial Team has reviewed all comments, and identified the loss of data to between approximately 9:30AM to 12:30PM eastern time zone on the 24th May Teleconference.
The Editorial Team met promptly after the call, and have recreated what they believe reflects the resolved responses for the noted lost comments. These comments have been placed in “Bucket2”, and within the response field of each comment is a note identifying the response for review and re-approval.
Please note that a report for Bucket2 comments has been generated and may be found at on the Task Force meeting site at [URL]:
https://www.ieee802.org/3/df/public/23_0523/8023df_D2p0_comments_bucket2_id.pdf
We are asking all individuals who participated on the Wednesday call to review the Bucket2 comments report. At Thursday’s meeting, we will do the following:
· At the beginning of the call the chair will ask individuals to identify any comments from Bucket2 that they do not feel accurately reflects the approved response at the 24th May meeting. Note - individuals should be focused on the accuracy of the recreated response.
· A motion to approve all remaining comments in Bucket2 will then be considered.
· Comments pulled from Bucket2 will be revisited to revise the recreated response so that response more accurately reflects the approved response from 24th May.
In addition, Comments #13 and #14, while not closed, had text and straw polls wording captured by the editor that were lost during the loss of data. Note - the actual straw poll vote results were captured by the Recording Secretary. This text and wording will be reviewed when comments #13 and #14 are revisited.
As noted at the end of today’s call, the call on the 25 May will end when all comments have been considered and closing business is completed.
Your understanding of this matter is appreciated.
Regards,
John D’Ambrosia
Chair, IEEE P802.3df Task Force
