Subject: Announcement - IEEE P802.3dj Sept 2024 Session - Call for Presentations
Please remember we are a contribution driven organization. It should not be assumed by anyone that work will get done without contributions to drive it. As discussed previously, areas not moving forward will be brought to the attention of the Task Force Leadership for consideration on how to address.
Dear IEEE P802.3dj Task Force Participants,
The IEEE P802.3dj Task Force will hold the following series of meetings as part of its Sept 2024 Session:
1. 05 Sept 2024, 10am to 12pm EDT, Electronic Meeting. Please note that for this electronic meeting, no registration is required. The draft agenda for the meeting will be Session Opening Business, Editorial Team Report, September 2024 Session Comment Agenda, P802.3dj near-term schedule considerations, and adoption of proposed responses to bucket comments for D1.1. The bucket comments considered during this meeting will be posted by Wed 28 Aug 2024. Requests to withdraw comments from “Bucket” must be made to John D’Ambrosia, Matt Brown and Kent Lusted by Wed 04 Sept 2024, 3pm EDT. Note - Additional use of “buckets” for comments by the editors may be used after this time.
2. At the IEEE 802.3 Sept 2024 Interim meeting, 16 -19 Sept 2024 Face-to-face with remote access (provided on best effort basis). Details regarding the meeting and registration may be found at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ieee-8023-september-2024-interim-session-registration-905155122337. Please note that registration and registration fee is required for all individuals who participate (in-person or virtual participation). The draft agenda for these meetings will be the consideration of comments submitted against D1.1. All logic and optical related comments will be considered at this meeting.
3. Contingent Electronic Meetings on 24th, 25th, 26th, and 30th Sept 2024, 9am to 1pm EDT. No registration is required. The draft agenda for these Task Force meetings will be the continuation of comment resolution for comments submitted against D1.1 that have been assigned to the Electrical Track, as well as Task Force closing business, when appropriate. Please note that meetings will be canceled once the agenda has been completed. Announcements regarding the status of each meeting will be sent via the main Task Force email reflector prior to the specific meeting date.
The following is the call for presentations for the IEEE P802.3dj Task Force September 2024 Session.
For the IEEE P802.3dj Task Force Session, requests for presentation time shall be made to me at jdambrosia@xxxxxxxxx and cc Kent Lusted at kent.c.lusted@xxxxxxxxx and must be made by Thursday 05 Sept 2024. Individuals wishing to present are directed to use the following form: https://forms.gle/1p59CPBnTVwLZKmc8.
All presentation requests must be submitted, merely noting a presentation as part of a comment’s suggested remedy is insufficient.
The presenter shall e-mail a PDF, soft-copy version of the presentation to me at jdambrosia@xxxxxxxxx and cc Kent Lusted at kent.c.lusted@xxxxxxxxx by Monday, 09 Sept 2024.
Please note the following –
· Priority will be given to consensus presentations, as noted by multiple authors or supporters from different affiliations.
· Priority will be given to presentations closing unresolved TBDs in the draft.
Please review Procedure for Presenters web page: https://www.ieee802.org/3/dj/public/presentproc.html
Presentations should be kept to 15 minutes in duration, excluding time for questions and answers. Requests for presentation time greater than 15 minutes will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and the requestor should contact the chair prior to making the request to justify the additional time. Please note that with the anticipated agenda, it is very unlikely that these requests will be honored. Furthermore, I encourage individuals to use the Task Force reflector to reach out to others in the spirit of consensus building. As chair, I reserve the right to introduce individuals making similar topic requests in the continuing spirit of this encouragement.
As a reminder, please make sure that all requests for presentations or submissions of presentation material have no restrictive notices at the bottom of the email. All such emails will be refused, and requests / presentations will not be acknowledged. All individuals submitting presentations should review the Procedures for Presenters Page for the respective projects noted above.
I would greatly appreciate presenters reviewing their own presentations to verify that they have followed the cited Presentation Style Guidelines.
To support the web site search tool used by the IEEE P802.3 web site the 'Document Information' fields of the PDF file must be completed as follows:
· Title: Title of presentation
· Author: Name(s) of author(s) & affiliation(s)
· Subject: IEEE P802.3dj Task Force
Presentations that do not have the fields properly filled out will not be accepted.
Regarding Relative Cost Analysis
· Presentations addressing relative cost analysis may require IEEE Risk management review if individuals do not follow guidelines provided in IEEE SA Anti-trust policy available at http://standards.ieee.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/antitrust.pdf.
· Further information about IEEE 802.3 cost discussion can be found in “Presentation on Cost Discussions to IEEE 802.3 Working Group” (See https://www.ieee802.org/3/100GNGOPTX/public/may12/lindsay_01_0512_optx.pdf).
· Please note that such IEEE Risk management review can take up to ~30 days. Individuals not budgeting sufficient time for review may have presentations scheduled for later meetings to allow these reviews.
