All,
First, I would like to congratulate the Task Force on its success this week and its decision to pre-submit D1.5 (our next draft) for consideration by the IEEE 802.3 WG to grant approval for us to proceed to WG Ballot after the May 2025 Interim.
As noted in my closing comments at the March 2025 Plenary, I encourage individuals to consider the submission of any comments for the sixth task force review, as the entire draft will be open for comment with the initial WG Ballot.
Given the state of the project, some may be assuming that the May meeting will be light. However, given the expected high number of comments that are typically submitted during an initial WG Ballot, the leadership will utilize any extra time in May for consensus discussions and / or presentation time on critical discussions (i.e.. challenging issues, deferred topics, other??).
The track chairs will provide a list by next Friday (21 March) that identifies topics that they believe will be raised during the WG ballot. Contributions are encouraged and the Track Leaders will use these contributions for discussion and consensus building that can be leveraged in July for quick resolution of these issues raised in the WG Ballot.
Regards,
John D’Ambrosia
Chair, IEEE P802.3dj Task Force
