Alireza That is a fair question. The number is for a full echo canceller for 10GBASE-T1. You are correct that I did not do analysis suggesting 80% of DSP is used for echo canceller. I refer you to one of Aeonsemi presentation in the previous cycle that shows relative size of echo canceller as compared to total PHY (not only DSP). Unfortunately I can not provide you more information at this time but I encourage you share your own experience and analysis. I listen. Thanks Ahmad Sent from Mail for Windows From: Alireza Razavi Ahmad, Unfortunately, I was not able to find the material in the presentation supporting some of the statements on slide 11. For example, I could not locate the source for the statement: “Removing echo canceller saves up to 80% of the DSP area.” Is this based on measurements from existing products, similar to previous presentations https://www.ieee802.org/3/dm/public/0524/Evaluation%20of%20802.3ch_Tran_050142024a.pdf , or is it based on a particular model? If it is the latter, I would appreciate more details about the system and its assumptions. Best regards, From: Ahmad Chini <chiniahmad.ieee@xxxxxxxxx> Alireza Please see in the presentation, the comparison is for DSP cost and active power. Any other analysis would be TBD future work. Could you provide more details about your assumptions for the materials in slide 11? Additionally, can your model or measurement compare the average and maximum power of the PHY on the camera side for EEE and time division mode? Furthermore, you compared two methods for the 2.5G/100M mode. How do these numbers change for the 10G/100M mode?
