Re: [802.3_SPEP2P] long short issues

The noise couple model we agreed on is based on the types of din connector banks seen in industrial, not the 6 around 1 model from lans…. And it is based on multiple disturbers in the bank.

I have some remarks on link noise specification:

-Alien Noise is specified for cables as 6 around 1 that means 6 disturbers. Connectors are specified as 3 around 1.

If only 1 disturber is used (as commonly done in dg ) we have to keep in mind that in installations there will be 6 disturbers (7,8 dB)more noise.
At the momont we consider shielded cables but mainly unshielded connectors, therfore the couplig will occur mostly at the connectors.

At the moment we mainly consider only cable to cable noise coupling and neglegt connector coupling.

Most of the coupling will occur at the transmitting and receiving side of the link were the connectors are near together.

One possibility to reduce the short long issue is to separete physically the the connectors for long links and the short links.
