With regard to your question on the 8B6T+PR and minimum distance and the quick simulation you did.

In your example in Excel you have a problem with the initial conditions. Your first transmit ternary 6T symbol is as follows:

TX 6T sequence with disparity

An    Bn    Cn    Dn    En    Fn

-1    0     0     1     -1    1

And your first Rx Quinary 6T symbol is as follows:

RX Quinary sequence with 1+D channel

An    Bn    Cn    Dn    En    Fn

-1    -1    0     1     0     0

So you have assumed that the value of the TX 6T Fn at time before 0, e.g. (time -1) is 0. However, the previous symbol cannot end in zero. So the value of An for your first Rx Quinary 6T symbol must be 0 or -2. Not -1.
