[802.3_SPEP2P] Task Force Review of D1p1 for 802.3dg - some guidance on comments.

All – I hope you are well and enjoying the opportunity to comment on and review draft 1.1 of 802.3dg.  A couple of hints for making the most of our time before July.

The editors have done a fast turn of the draft and will need to do another.  Early comments are appreciated.

It will help very much if when you make a comment, put the actual change needed into the suggested remedy.  Making the editors guess is asking for trouble and causing them work.  Saying Change “the black cat jumped” to “the spotted fish swam” at Page 20, Line 10 (if it’s anything different from where the comment was) is helpful.  That way the editor’s don’t have to look or make a judgement call.  Saying “make it correct” is asking for a repeated error and causing an editor doing a quick turn to have to go looking for the answer.  Figures you should definitely reference presentations and slides for.  Text or equations, please try to put them into the comment. Also, if you have the same comment on a bunch of places, consider lumping it all into one comment and just listing the places where the change needs to be made.
