RE: [10GBASE-CX4] Preparation for the Ottawa Interim

456 grudgingly accept. It would be less confusing if you removed the factor of 0.5 in the waveform normalization. This would change the scale so that the 1 level would be where the 0.5 level is now. Or if you really feel there is some magic in the normalized 1 being near the voltage, then divide by 4 instead of 2 to produce Vnorm. It seems silly to divide by 2 in one equation and then divide by 2 in another equation when one could have divided by 4 in the first place.

452 accept though it is a little confusing that OK detection time is specified separately from OK assertion time but FAIL detection and deassertion are combined into one spec. I understand the reason for the difference, but the text could make it more clear.

NOT RESOLVED:
457 - the receiver jitter tolerance section seeems to be missing from draft 4.02. Since this is a necessary specification, the comment is still unresolved.
458 - this comment is still open. It is not clear that jitter has been adequately addressed.

Subject: [10GBASE-CX4] Preparation for the Ottawa Interim
Hello Task Force Members,
Our editorial crew, led by Howard Baumer has reviewed the task force
internal document 4.01 and revised it to create 4.02 which I have posted at
http://www.ieee802.org/3/ak/private/drafts/d4.02/index.html
In addition, I have posted an Excel spreadsheet provided by Gary Oleynick
which contains useful data on cable assembly S-parameters.
Please jump over to the website, download the material, and begin reviewing
it so that we can make good progress in Ottawa.
I have received a few requests for time to present at the meeting.
Presentations will be contingent upon time and direct relevance to resolving
comments from D4.0. If you have not contacted me yet but have material that
you believe should be shared, contact me immediately so we can discuss how
to proceed with it.
I believe we are in shape to complete comment resolution and get D4.1 out to
recirculation from this meeting.
Best Regards,
Dan Dove
