I have read the joint proposal, however it only addresses the protocol
for data transfer, and side-steps how the "Link pulses" are electrically
signalled in a SERDES compatible way.
I want to address this issue, and solicit the feedback of other SERDES
vendors. I think there will be more feedback if the protocol and
signalling aspects are kept seperate initially. I beleive that my
proposal is complementary to the joint protocol proposal, and in due
course could be folded into it.
If you wish I'll send you a copy of what I've done so far.
