Re: [BP] IEEE 802.3ap Signaling ad hoc conference calls between now and the November Plenary
Title: Message
Adam,
Good points. Sorry again for the short
notice. I think that having the signaling ad hoc meetings the day after
the channel meetings might be the best for syncing the
efforts.
Signaling ad hoc members,
Using these assumptions, this will put the signaling ad
hoc meetings on 22 Oct and 5 Nov (Fridays). I would propose 10AM~noon PDT
for the mtg time. I will re-send the mtg announcement in a few minutes
with these dates and times. I would like to get a picture of the expected
attendance levels, so if these dates and times cannot work, send me an
email.
Regards.

Mike,
A
couple of observations:
1. The notice for the 10/14 call is a bit short. I suspect
some people are going to grumble.
2. The October 10/28 meeting occurs during the OIF Q4
meeting week. You may experience some grumbling and drop-off in
attendance for this meeting.
3. The presentation deadline for the 11/11 comes after the
presentation request/submittal deadline (11/10). I suspect some people
with grumble about that also.
You
may wish to consider 10/20 or 10/22 as your first meeting to stick
with the 1-week notice that was requested by certain TF
members.
I plan
to schedule channel model teleconferences for 10/21 and 11/4 (yes, only two) at
10am pacific.
Can we
chat briefly today to discuss your short term objectives? Let me know when
you are available.
Best
Regards,
-Adam
Dear
802.3ap attendeed (signaling ad hoc),
As
mentioned at the 802.3 Interim mtg, we will be holding some more signaling ad
hoc meetings between now and the November mtg. I have reserved bridges
for the following dates below. There was no objection voiced to keeping
the Thursday 8AM timeslot, so I have taken the liberty of re-using it.
Preliminary topics for this week's meeting are:
1)
Addressing signaling agressors and noise (the things which cause bit
errors)
Which are
random, which are deterministic, which must be worst-case
modeled
2)
Additional components to the simulation model (beyond the channel
itself)
Package
and termination models - can we agree on a common model for
these?
I
would like to have a focussed discussion on these topics at this
meeting.
I
will distribute the slides for this week's meeting first thing tomorrow
AM.
.../Mike
