[BP] IEEE P802.3ap/D1.0 posted and available for review

IEEE P802.3ap Task Force Members,

Per the direction set at the June interim meeting, Draft 1.0 of IEEE P802.3ap has been generated and posted for review.  Thanks to all who contributed to the revision of the draft.

This version will be pre-submitted to 802.3 Working Group so that it may receive consideration for forwarding to Working Group ballot at the upcoming July plenary meeting.

COMMENT PERIOD OPEN:
Monday, 1 July 2005

COMMENT PERIOD CLOSE:
11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time), Wednesday, 13 July 2005

Please recall that changes made to Draft 1.0 during the July plenary week will be reviewed during the 802.3 Working Group closing plenary prior to the request to advance to Working Group ballot.  Therefore, the editor will be required to make any changes during the plenary meeting week.  We are very interested in correcting errors of an editorial or technical nature.  However, the decision to pre-submit the document for working group ballot consideration implies that the document has reached a point of stability such that requests for large-scale technical or editorial additions or changes are not expected.  Furthermore, it is strongly encouraged that commenters provided a detailed description of the issue that they have discovered, and a detailed suggested remedy that takes the form of a specific editorial action or set of actions whenever possible.  That said, all comments against IEEE P802.3ap/D1.0 are welcome and will receive due consideration from the Task Force, in the context described above, at the July plenary meeting.

Thank you,

Adam Healey, Chair

Schelto van Doorn, Editor
