Dear colleagues, As mentioned during yesterday’s ct call, there are further comments for which I want to propose a modified proposed response. Those comments relate to test patterns in Clause 154. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment #121: Change to “accept in principle”.
Proposed response: Despite the fact that no information was provided about the potential need for more than one test pattern, after further review it has been agreed that “scrambled idle” is a sufficient
test pattern for the parameters in Clause 154.8”. Implement suggested remedy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment #123: Change to “Accept in principle”, but add to proposed response at the end: For most parameters “scrambled idle” would be an appropriate (single) test pattern whereas for some both “scrambled idle” or “valid 100GBASE-R signal” will be appropriate. Which

Modify proposed response to: “While compliance is to be achieved in normal operation, a specific test pattern is defined for measurement consistency and to enable measurement of some parameters. Table 154–12
gives the test patterns to be used in each measurement, unless otherwise specified, and also lists references to the subclauses in which each parameter is defined. Any of the test patterns given for a particular test in Table 154–12 may be used to perform
that test. The test pattern used in this clause is shown in Table 154–11. See also response to comments #121 and #123.
