Hello all, As you are aware from the March meeting and the note below, Megha Shanbhag and I contributed a presentation and corresponding set of S-Parameter files to support the adoption of a backplane objective. In that presentation and the S-Parameter
files, we referred to the three backplane configurations (or “channels”) as “KR 1”, “KR 2”, and “KR 3”. In hindsight this reference is similar to (but different from) nomenclature used by IEEE 802.3, such as “100GBASE-KR4”. That similarity was not intended
to cause any confusion, we were simply inventing a way to refer to the three different backplane channels. This note is to clarify that the “KR 1”, “KR 2” and “KR 3” channel names in
