Re: [802.3_MAINT] New Interpretation Request Received

Colleagues,

I have received emails from a few people that are interested in this topic. The email below highlights when it will be discussed in the committee.

In the interim, if you would like to discuss this topic by email, please use the maintenance reflector. Discussions on the interpretation as well as any maintenance requests are welcomed on that reflector. The main IEEE 802.3 Working Group reflector is moderated and not intended for technical discussions on these topics, it was simply used to announce the new interpretation request.

Maintenance Reflector Information

The reflector address is stds-802-3-maint@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Information on the reflector and how to subscribe can be found at: http://www.ieee802.org/3/maint/reflector.html

Regards,

Wael

Subject: New Interpretation Request Received

Colleagues,

To-date we have received one new interpretation request since the July plenary. It can be found at: http://www.ieee802.org/3/interp/interp-1-1110.pdf

Mr. Law has asked that this request be considered by the Maintenance Task Force. As with any interpretation request, the Working Group will have final say over the response.

Since the request was received well in advance of the September interim meeting of the Maintenance Task Force, there will be an agenda item to discuss it when we meet in Portland to start developing a response.

Any progress made in September will be reviewed at the Working Group opening session in November. There will also be an agenda item during the November Maintenance Task Force meeting to review the progress and discuss further if needed. Finally, as is our normal process, any response developed in the Maintenance Task Force will be reviewed at the closing Working Group session in November.

Regards,

Wael
