[8023-POEP] 802.3af L1 classification, then >13W on L2???
All,
There continues to be concern on how to address the
configuration of using an 802.3af PD front end for
layer 1 classification (for which a maximum of 13W can
be allocated) and then request >13W on layer 2.
During the 11/1/06 Classification Ad Hoc meeting, the
appended statement was crafted by the group in order
to propose one possible method to address this issue.
We are interested in your comments on the following
statement.

"After a Type 2 PD has requested a power level on
layer 1, it is recommended that this PD request the
same or less power on layer 2. This will avoid an
inter-operability problem when this PD is powered by a
Type 2, Layer 1-only PSE."
