Bob-
I believe the current labeling (802.3af public area) is sufficient

Geoff, assuming that
information is one level down, what would be the pointer to that level,
so it would be obvious that you are on the right track. I think we
can do a much better job than we now do of making it obvious how to get
to important information. My preference is to have the first page
more useful with more information, but I will bow to the will of the
majority.
Any other opinions out there?

Bob-
I disagree with your suggestion.
I don't think these topics are appropriate for the top page but rather belong down at least one level. I would welcome a discussion of what would be an appropriate reorganization of something at the "802.3af public area" or below.

I would like to suggest some changes to our 802.3af home page. I am sending this note to the reflector, because I would like others to think about what information they want to see direcly pointed to on our home page for easily tracking our task force activities.
The present home page contains the following:
Additional pointers and information I would like to see on there include:
Important announcements (without requireing hypertext links, like a ballot is open and will close on ??/??/??).
A What's New section with a list of files that have been recently posted or changed (such as meeting minutes for the interim meeting, and new documents posted to the "public area" for between meeting documents.
I invite others to suggest additons (or modifications) to this list.
